Feeling mortal

Just the ramblings of an old timer here, but in the last few weeks the passing of a musician from my youth has me feeling suddently mortal, and a bit mellow. We all have our signature song, movie, actor, teacher, sports star, whatever that was a milestone our our lives. The one that got me spouting all this rubbish is the passing of one Bobbie Smith, at the age of 74. Bobbie was one of the founding members of the motown group, The Spinners. He was their original lead singer, and wrote many of their hit records. I bought my first 45 vinyl record in 1970 iirc with my own allowance money at the base exchange at howard afb panama canal zone. It was the Spinners hit, " One of a kind love affair". While my musical tastes evolved, changed, rearranged and settled down the spinners were always right there to keep me company. I got to see his/thier last show in my area 2.5 years ago and am very glad I went.
Anyway, this is my tribute to him, and if your so inclined, lets hear about yours.
