The problem wasn't the announcing. When we did the open raids, they were scheduled - everyone could plan for the next week, if he missed last week's. As i see it, the problem has two sides: 1) not enough of a coherent core. You need not only a certain number but also a certain level of gear to do so...

Chars have "gone missing" last week - not because accounts have been compromised, but due to some fuck-up server-side.
Hopefully a petition will fix things for you as it did for me - though it took a while.
